Adrian Farmer DWMWHS newsletter – any OBM inclusion?

Ron is very happy to be involved with OBM in a support, advice and networking capacity.

  • Concern was raised regarding roles and decision making and it was agreed that the WhatsApp group had evolved into more than an immediate form of brief and relevant communication, possibly due to a lack of structured meeting taking place. We should limit WhatsApp use as a form of lengthy communication or decision making.

It was agreed that for 2023, a proposed regular monthly meeting (bi monthly on occasions if appropriate), should take place, enabling people to make plans to attend in good time, with an agenda and previous agreed actions circulated in advance, in order that  follow up actions can be discussed and decisions made. If required, Strutts Room 54 (appx £8) was an appropriate venue.

  • OBM Poster

Phoebe to prepare basic in house generic poster agreed for Phoebe to print by Thursday 24 Nov in time for distribution around Belper prior to Christmas Food Festival Sunday 4th December. CB/CT/MP to deliver to locations around town

MP to liase with Jo Black – Reunion Belper re kind offer to get involved/ produce poster – reinforcing her valued skills & input and that we would rather save that for a targeted 2023 campaign where Reunion could be better placed to help – i.e new campaign around 6 Big Questions with post box located in their premises for completed forms or leaflet access point

  • OBM Leaflet Phoebe has sent this to Derbyshire Teas for printing. MP to chase re situation
  • Christmas Food Festival – Sunday 4th December 10am – 3pm

It was agreed that a presence in King Street would gain maximum benefit. We should approach the Railway pub for authority to have OBM folks in Tshirts, with clipboards for OBM sign up, to be based around their frontage and to have a small table under their dry archway for OBM team use – not as a display. CB&CT to discuss with Railway.

  • Media

It was agreed that we should be actively making contact with the media to highlight OBM profile.

MP had contacted an independent journalist who had not yet responded.

It was suggested that we should try to maximise the media reference re recent PMQ’s. CB to raise the issue with Pauline Latham’s secretary to see if we can share any media platform or contacts.

It was agreed that the ‘You Said, We Heard’ document should be used in the public/media domain.
