UPDATE JULY 2023! YOU can help to shape an alternative plan…….

Our Belper Mills -OBM is a key, active member of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site Partnership steering group.
The Partnership, made up of local authorities and other key members, believes current proposals are unlikely to be financially viable and negatively impact the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
It has therefore commissioned its own consultants to produce alternative proposals, through Derbyshire County Council, funded by National Lottery, Historic England, Derbyshire County Council and the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site Partnership.
No money has yet been secured for the delivery of the alternative scheme, although the production of a robust funding strategy forms part of the commission.
OBM wants to ensure that everyone has a chance to have their say regarding the future of the Mills and, this summer, an online survey regarding the alternative plan options will be launched.
To get involved, you can follow www.derwentvalleymills.org.uk and on Facebook: @DerwentValleyMillsWHS or Twitter: @DVMillsWHS.
The survey details will also be available on our website – so get involved and spread the word….www.ourbelpermills.co.uk
